As a member of the Volunteer Centre (VCED) you may register with us as many volunteering opportunities as you require.
You will be asked to complete an Opportunities Form for each new volunteering opportunity, detailing all of its particular requirements.
We will promote your opportunity in a variety of ways to inform, encourage and recruit the most appropriate person for that opportunity.

It has a search engine to assist volunteers in their quest to find a suitable opportunity.

Volunteer Centre Volunteering Hotlist
This is produced on a monthly basis and distributed to key resource sites e.g. libraries, community centres etc.
We also distribute this bulletin to key agencies and organisations with whom we work closely e.g. East Dunbartonshire Campus, JobCentre Plus.
- Internal Vacancy Bulletin
All Volunteer Centre staff attend a weekly team meeting where new and urgent need volunteering opportunities are highlighted.
This ensures that staff are made aware of all relevant details pertaining to the highlighted opportunities.
- Database Search
As an additional service to our members we can carry out a database search of all our registered volunteers within East Dunbartonshire to highlight the need for volunteers for a specific opportunity.
The Volunteer Centre bears all costs in relation to the mailing of information to the volunteers.
We then ask the volunteers to get in touch with us if they are interested in the opportunity.
- Upcoming Events
We host a number of events throughout the year and are also asked to participate in local initiatives and events.
In these ways we promote all of our opportunities, especially those who have highlighted an urgent need for volunteers as well as those which are new and relevant to the event.
