Befrienders are volunteers who give their time for a variety of reasons such as a desire to meet new people, gain experience and contribute to the local community.
They are carefully selected, are enhanced disclosure checked, required to provide two references and complete a training course before becoming befrienders.
Befriending Service staff are also available and keep in contact throughout the duration of match.
